The 47th Primary School of Heraklion is located in Heraklion, the largest city of Crete in southern Greece. Crete is known for its history, natural beauty and hospitable people. Our city has an international airport with frequent connections to the largest European cities.
Our primary school applies to Greek National Curriculum. It has 295 students and 19 teachers and 8 teachers of modules such as Music, Foreign Languages (English, French, German), Computers and Communications, Visual Arts, Theater and Physical Education.
Our teachers have a high level of expertise in new technologies and many have PhDs and Masters degrees in their subject.

The school is a pioneer in innovation and STEM networks, having been certified with the STEM School Label by the European Schoolnet body of the European Union. It is one of the 20 European ambassador schools of the STEM School Label and the only one from Greece. We also participate in eTwinning and European Space Agency (ESA) programs.
The school actively cooperates with the local community, while it belongs to the Greek network of school libraries, it takes part in environmental programs, robotics contests, music projects, educational activities etc.
